ORGANIZATION:
The Sotoo Kikaku organization was created in 2012 in Japan to support the professional activity of the sculptor Etsuro Sotoo.
At present, Sotoo Kikaku has the objective of promoting the study and knowledge of art and the world based on the method and philosophy that Antoni Gaudí developed to conceive a unique vision and expression of art. His legacy, succeeded by Etsuro Sotoo as sculptor of the Expiatory Temple of the Sagrada Familia since 1978, has allowed him to understand that Gaudí is not only architecture and art, but a form of humanity that can help us build a better future.
No one can deny that Antoni Gaudí has been a genius ahead of his time. So far ahead of its time that it is still ahead of us today. But beyond the great works of art that he has allowed us to discover, Gaudí leaves open a space to reflect on the essence of everything that surrounds us, on the originality and origin of things, on what is really vital and important to be able to live and know how to find individual and collective happiness.
In this space open to reflection, the Sotoo Kikaku organization wants to establish itself as an entity that disseminates the values that forge the figure of Antoni Gaudí to project them through various socio-cultural activities aimed at all types of audiences.
In the words of Etsuro Sotoo himself, "Now I have understood that I should not look at Gaudí, but rather look where he looked". Surely, this way we will be able to connect with the vision of the world of a genius that perhaps one day will be closer to us.
MISSION:
The Sotoo Kikaku organization's mission is to reflect on the true value of things and overcome the economic, consumerist and materialistic conception inherent in today's world, to contribute to the progress of people and society through its own programs, strategic alliances or in collaboration with third parties.
